Odd Interactions
Had a really difficult interaction today. Sunday’s, spouse and I like to eat out. We decided we’d try one of our local taco joints that had expanded, we thought, into a full service restaurant. They went from a 10x20 shack to 5000sqft remodeled/recycled restaurant space that used to have tons of booths, tables and a bar. You may see why we thought it would be a real restaurant. We like to patronize community spaces.
To our surprise, they gutted the old space and made a cafeteria style space.
We ordered our usual kind of plate to share. Basic. We had a pleasant interaction with staff and immediately got hit up for a tip. I’m not fond of tipping where staff don’t really serve you. Plus we got handed one of those hateful buzzer/pager things. Staff wouldn’t be delivering the food 10 ft to our table. But they expected that tip.
When the buzzer went off I stated how much I hated the thing to the staff.
The response, “You’re not the only one.”
“Could you say something to the boss.”
“Oh, I can’t do that!”
“Really?”
“He won’t listen to me!” <—- verbatim
“Can I have a contact number?”
“No.”

Got to wonder what kind of boss runs a business where he discourages Any feedback from customers. Usually, if your clients have an unpleasant experience they just stop coming. I know I will.
Another Test This written on my iPad, using Dropbox’s native text editor and markdown.
So, The reason I’m here at all is that I read a post on Mastodon. I know! Big Whup! Well, it sorta is. I got recommended to blotdotim as a potential site for a down and dirty self published blog site. As you can see from the first couple of posts things seem to be working well on the limited trials I’ve made (.txt file - docx file using LibreOffice - and a md markdown file) All pretty basic stuff for $5 a month via paypal.
(Aside, I’m a fan of using paypal for subscription because I’ve been burned too many times by handing over various forms of payment data, you name it, and then being unable to cancel it when I was through with the service. I don’t want hoops! So, I maintain a very small, completely separate bank account ,nothing else there, linked to paypal. Then I can turn off the subscription at paypal with out muss or fuss.)
So, I think you should check things out. There is quite a nice video demo on the marquee page to give you an idea.
Yet another test. But Will It Work?
- I’m not sure
- It possibly could.
- Definitely not!’
